About Us

Bruchey Builders, its founders and current team, have their roots in Frederick County for generations and have been heavily involved in the construction industry for over 75 years. We are proud to be a reputable commercial construction contractor in Frederick, MD serving all of MD, PA and WV with quality industrial and commercial construction services.

George and Mary Bruchey were both born in Frederick County in 1931. They graduated from Frederick High School in 1948. Mary worked for MJ Grove Lime Company and George went to work for Frederick Construction as a laborer. In 1950, George served with the Army Corp of Engineers in Korea, returning in 1953, as a superintendent with Frederick Construction. Frederick Construction ultimately became Frederick Contractors and George was one of the principal owners. Frederick Contractors built many of the commercial buildings in Frederick County including Frederick Shopping Center, YMCA and multiple banks, medical, elderly housing, churches, retail and industrial facilities. After almost 35 years with Frederick Contractors, George retired in 1982.

In 1983, George and Mary, with their children opened up Bruchey Builders to continue the tradition of commercial construction excellence, honesty and integrity. Though both George and Mary passed in 2016, the company continues with these same values. We are currently celebrating our 40th Anniversary. Bill serves as President and handles all of the company’s accounting and financial endeavors. Rob serves as Vice President and handles all estimating and oversees the Project Management Department. Jim handles all of the field operations and specializes in large projects.
